For more than 65 years, the March of Dimes has been serving America’s children. First, by funding development of the polio vaccine to eradicate the deadly virus, and then by working to prevent birth defects and infant mortality through research, education, community services and advocacy.

Today, the March of Dimes is searching for answers to the alarming increase in premature birth. This year, more than 460,000 babies will be born too soon, 4,000 of those babies will die and many who survive will face lifelong illness or disability. For half of these babies, no one knows why they were born too soon. The March of Dimes Pre maturity Campaign is dedicated to finding the answers.
